The beating heart of Indonesia

Java is often described as the ‘island of volcanoes’, thanks to the many majestic peaks that shape its landscape. Beyond its natural beauty, the island offers a deep encounter with Indonesia’s rich cultural and diverse historical heritage. It is the ideal island for varied and immersive journeys.

Culture: shaped by centuries of history, the island is a melting pot of traditions, religions and artistic expressions. Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, is also located on Java.

Nature: sweeping rice fields, towering volcanoes and beautiful waterfalls create a landscape of remarkable diversity and grandeur.

Adventure: Java offers adventure in abundance, from climbing the Ijen crater to cycling routes around the temples of Central Java.

Hotels: in Jakarta and around Borobudur in Central Java you will find exceptional luxury hotels, including the renowned Amanjiwo. In East Java, accommodation is slightly less luxurious but perfectly suited for overnight stays during a round trip.

Culinary: Jakarta is home to many excellent and atmospheric restaurants representing a wide range of international cuisines. In and around Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java, the finest dining options are typically found within the hotels.

The weather in Java

The rainy season runs from November to March, but as showers are typically short and intense, travel during this period is still very possible. The best time to visit is from April to November, when rainfall is at its lowest and the humidity is more comfortable.

What our guests say

The Orange Lotus

We had an unforgettable journey through Java, Bali and Moyo Island. Joey impressed us with her wonderful proposals, each perfectly aligned with the wishes of our entire family. Throughout the trip she was always there for us — even securing a table at a restaurant that had been fully booked for months. Thank you, The Orange Lotus. We will certainly return.

The Orange Lotus

Thank you for an unforgettable journey through Thailand and for your flawless organisation. The excursions in Bangkok and Chiang Mai were truly unique experiences, and our hotel preferences were met perfectly. And the fact that you even surprised us by arranging our favourite wine on board during our private yacht excursion in Koh Samui says everything about your eye for detail and perfection. Wonderful in every way — we look forward to travelling with you again.
